From October 21 to 23, 2024, the MileSteam project brought future-focused education to life at Meridian School with a dynamic workshop on drone technology and 3D printing, led by specialists from EMM IT. Students were introduced to digital modeling tools, the mechanics of 3D printers, and the principles of drone flight through a series of practical exercises. They designed and printed small objects, learned how to calibrate equipment, and piloted drones in a supervised learning environment. The sessions helped students understand real- world applications of STEAM and sparked a strong interest in emerging technologies— particularly among those who may not typically see themselves represented in tech education. This MileSteam activity showcased how project-based learning can boost confidence and fuel curiosity in young learners across diverse educational settings.
